Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills and staining) in one time without having to swap out devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively modest price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual can get you running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it can smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station has a handy LCD screen that displays the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and washing the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. automatic vacuum can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend however we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can alter its course automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.
It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin auto-refilling.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and food particles. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for a pad. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. It can also get under low-profile furnishings which makes it an ideal option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or in a series. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and understand, and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps, and control mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market and comes with many extra features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a good method to keep your home cleaner for longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also has several features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
